George Nokes Sr
was born about 1680. He was a manufacturer in London.
George Nokes
was born about 1736 in Maryland, and married Diana Ditto on December
25,1755 at St. John's parish, Baltimore, Maryland. Diana was born
about 1739 in Maryland. George and Diana moved to Caswell County,
North Caraolina after1755 and had some of their 11 children there.
In 1781, George and Diana moved to Lincoln County, Kentucky, and had two
or more children there. Some of the Nokes' children; including
Benjamin, Thomas, John, Liberty and William were killed by Indians about
1789.
